Junior Handling
At PDC, we are committed to encouraging and supporting Junior Handlers who demonstrate dedication, sportsmanship, and a genuine passion for working with dogs. Through ongoing support, the Club aims to help reduce barriers on participation, build confidence, and foster lifelong involvement in the sport. Investing in Junior Handlers is an investment in the future of our Club and the broader dog community, and we are proud to support them at the start of their journey. Junior Handlers are encouraged to complete a complimentary membership application to stay connected with the club and receive updates on upcoming events.
Prairie Dachshund Club 40th Anniversary
Junior Handling Education Bursary
To celebrate 40 years of dedication to Dachshunds and junior handlers, the Prairie Dachshund Club is proud to offer a commemorative 40th Anniversary bursary of up to $400 CAD.
This bursary recognizes and supports junior handlers involved with Dachshunds who are pursuing post-secondary or continuing education, and who demonstrate commitment to sportsmanship, learning, and the future of our sport.
Who can apply:
- Junior Handling participants from Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta
- Open to all Dachshund varieties, coat types, and sizes
- Applicants do not need to own or breed Dachshunds
What’s required:
- Proof of post-secondary or continuing education enrollment (ages 16–21)
- A short personal essay reflecting on Junior Handling experience and sportsmanship
- Documentation of Dachshund-related participation
- Two reference letters
